Cup of Coffee: Programming Note

You may recall me talking about how I had a root canal last March. It fixed the problem for a couple of weeks but I soon resumed having cold sensitivity in the same general area as the root canal. Which suggests a second tooth was troublesome or something was wrong with the root canal because with the nerve gone I shouldn't feel anything up there.

I ignored it for a while because the discomfort and sensitivity was way milder than it had been before, but it was not getting better. So I began thinking about calling my dentist and setting up an appointment to deal with it. Starting Wednesday, however, the entire right side of my mouth – top teeth and bottom – began throbbing. Not just in reaction to cold, but fairly constantly. Googling suggests that the full mouth pain is referred pain, likely from one tooth. Probably the one next to the one that got the root canal, any problems in which were missed back in March, but who knows. Yesterday morning it became too much to ignore so I called the dentist and I'm going back in this morning for what I assume will be, at the very least, a second root canal.

I had meant to nonetheless do a regular newsletter today but it just wasn't happening as I was unable to concentrate due to the pain. I spent most of the day kinda drugged up and watching TV to distract myself. There are worse ways to spend a Thursday but there sure as hell are better ways too.

Sorry about all this. I presume that, absent them finding alien DNA growing inside me or something, things will be back to normal on Monday.
